Biography:
Stanislaw Szmajzner (Pulawy, 13 March 1927) arrived in Sobibor when he was 15 years old. He was a goldsmith, and was put to work making signet rings and other jewelry for the guards. During the uprising, he was able to get ahold of three rifles wrapped in blankets. He shot one of the Ukrainian watchtower guards: "that was the first time in my life I ever fired a gun".
